If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.

(1) To search for all members in a Source file:

Do WRKOBJPDM for the library(e.g. PRDSRC) containing Source file for
that Member(Source).
Put Option 25 against that source file (e.g. QRPGSRC)and choose various
selections e.g. String, Search in Batch (if you are choosing "in batch"
put 6 for Option which will print each source with the string)etc.

(2) To search in a particular member, do WRKMBRPDM and put 25 for that
source.

Or, use command FNDSTRPDM.

Thanks,
Rajeev.

Subject: Scanning Source
Reply-To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com

     To All:

Either I have gone brain dead (most likely) or I'm just plain
stupid
(very likely) but I cannot remember how to scan a source file for a
string in batch. What I need to do is run a batch program that
will
scan a known source file for a given string, and return the member
name to me. I cannot use any on line actions as this will be
completely in batch. I also do not have any tools available
outside
     of PDM.

     Ideas?
