I used to think the same thing until I upgraded my version of Netscape. I also was getting a ton of these files filling up my hard drive. You can't fight progress and once in a while you just have to upgrade your e-mail client, at least for those major updates. For those users that don't know how to turn their Netscape card on/off.... Preferences, Mail & Groups, Identity, check/uncheck Always attach Address Book Card to messages.
