I agree with Randy -

If you have a LAN in place (we don't - YET...). We were using this at my former employer. Were wrestling with getting Client Access to work to dial in to the AS/400's (before I left) but was GREAT for folks on the LAN wanting to dial out and for a joint venture to dial into the LAN...

It isn't cheap if you just want to have one user accessing the AS/400 remotely at a time but I am VERY partial to the Shiva LanRover 8/E if you are running TCP/IP on your AS/400. (It supports IPX protocol, too, but who cares in this day and age? <grin>). It's also able to support dial out from your networked PC's if you need such a thing as dial up Internet access (the dial out is an extra cost option, though, not included with the base product) and don't want to wire modem lines throughout your office. (Assumes you don't already have this feature on your LAN.) It has been EXTREMELY reliable as a TCP/IP dial up connection for CA/400 from home for the whole IS staff at my former employer.

I am looking for a reliable way to dial into my AS400 from a remote PC. We are currently using a twinax protocol converter that worked great under DOS. But once we went to the Windows version of the software - performance went way down. Any suggestions ? Thanks
