Ah, in that case you weren't actually just deleting it. I've had that situation occur a couple of times where the PTF is marked as damaged, and the only solution I have seen is that you must redo the LODPTF command first, before you can do either APYPTF or RMVPTF. On the occasions where this has happened to me I was able to recover by doing a LODPTF again from the savefile I already had downloaded, so it appears it wasn't a case of a corrupted savefile that needed to be replaced, but a case of something screwing up when the original LODPTF command was issued. Well, I know for sure that there are some circumstances where you cannot remove a ptf if the save file isn't present. I had to sit for 2 hrs one night a year or so back while I re-downloaded a PTF just so I could get rid of the blasted thing. As I recall, the ptf was loaded and damaged, but not applied.
