We only convert RPG that has to be modified. We created a CRTOBJ-tool (tailored for our PROD/TEST environment) that on compile of RPG code, has a parameter CVTILE(default *YES) that converts to ILE, checks & converts non converted /COPYs and renames to old sourcecode type (from RPG to RPG#ILE, no more RPG code, not compileable anymore). The compile uses CRTRPGMOD/CRTPGM, so no difference between legacy code and new RPGIV pgms. Once the routine is made, you're off without problems. at least, it works fine at our place.
