Don, I once had a client who consistently found that my completed projects were wanting something or other that had not been discussed. At the time my employer was doing these on a fixed bid basis, (which I won't comment on here! ;^)), and he kept trying to satisfy the client by adding the features for free. I began to supply very, very detailed URDs. Files, fields, calcs used, everything I could think of was included. One day I was sitting down with this client, and I was pointing out to him that what I had created was nothing more or less than what was specified in the (signed!) URD, which I was holding in my hand. He gave me a blank stare and said, "You don't actually think that I *read* those, do you? I would hate to think that you were using those to try to cheat me." Every client is different. Peace to you too, Kathleen Kostuck ___________________ (414) 402-0820 fax (414) 495-4986 kkostuck@execpc.com AS/400 Solutions Secretary - Wisconsin Midrange Computer Professionals Association ___________________ ---------- > From: Don Schenck <schencd%AM_LZCH%VASELL@mr.mops.wl.com> > To: MIDRANGE-L <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> > Subject: Re: Work remote > Date: Wednesday, November 18, 1998 3:16 AM > > :::I dislike bringing a piece of the project in on budget and on time and then > have it explained in detail what I've missed doing.
