They're a LOT different for me, since I download newsgroup messages in the
background while I do other things, then read them and compose replies
offline.  Since I use Outlook Express for both newsgroups and e-mail, the
interface to both is nearly identical, and equally convenient.  I've yet to
see a Web forum that even comes close.
