I think you are technically correct on the meaning of recursion, especially
when
related to a mathematical expression. I think the term is used differently in
programming. If it were not, recursion would be very rare... do you really
call
another program directly?. It looks like IBM's definition is the same as
Mark's on
the AS/400 based on the description found in message RPG8888.
