Re: ASCII workstation controller

More questions about using an ASCII Workstation Controller Model 6141:

The client has an AS/400 Model 400e at V3R7 with the 6141 controller.  He is 
ordering a new 170 soon and will have both units in place by spring.  Until 
then at least I'd like to use the 6141 controller and dial-in and use Code/400 
to upload and download code.  I have no experience with communications, and 
while the client is cooperative and pleasant, their only experience is with 
this controller, a 9600 modem, and Dial-3x which is just not suitable for my 
situation.

My questions are:

1- At V3R7 can we use Slip or PPP?

2- Does Client Access work over Slip?  Windows or OS/2, either one, would be ok.

3- Will a matched pair of US Robotics 33,600 modems give something close to 
33,600 speeds?

4- Is there a reasonable place to look up information?  (My  head is still 
swimming from looking at the pages and pages of material in the Redbooks, but I 
didn't actually learn anything.)
