I'm not sure what sense of screen capture you are looking for, but an application program can appear as a 3270 device to another system using the 3270 device emulation APIs. For SNA communications the SNA Upline Facility Programming manual describes the programming interfaces. For BSC the S/38 3270 Emulation Reference manual describes the interfaces. For maximum fun one could also use the standard 3270 emulation commands and capture the screens by way of the Virtual Terminal APIs found in the System API Reference (and running the 3270 session from a virtual 5250 session).
