I spoke with IBM, and they said the Wave Tour was designed for "top level"
management types who know nothing about the AS/400. This is part of their
campaign to increase awareness of the AS/400.

This is why, as many may have noticed, that the tour was actually mentioned
in the Wall Street Journal.

Maybe you can encourage the CEOs of your companies or the companies you work
with to go!!

I went to the one a couple weeks ago and was disappointed. The Killer Apps
speaker wasn't bad, but wasn't overly interesting. The guy from IBM who
spoke
on what the AS/400 could do was great, but for the most part I think he was
preaching to the choir.

I had no idea what to expect since there was no agenda on the web site. I
registered thru their web site a few days in advance, but when I got there
they had no record of me registering. (Probably had an NT server handling
that).

There was a small vendor expo, but nothing exciting.

If you were top management who knew nothing of the AS/400, this gave you an
good understanding of its capabilities. But for me, it offered almost
nothing
I didn't already know.
