i never switched!  where i went to college, to get a computer science degree 
you had to get an emphasis in
something.  so i picked accounting.  5 years later, i took the cpa test kinda 
as a challenge...  and as a back up
career.

but i'd see these auditors on assignment, and couldn't think of more boring 
tedious work. it was fun as problems
for college, but i wouldn't want to make a career out of it.  but it does come 
in handy sometimes.  i get
questions pretty regularly from clients about 'what's the entry for this?'
