RUNSQL is a function that came out of a magazine.  We got ours from News/400.
Midrange computing had a similar article.  The run from News/400 uses QMQRY.
It is not required that you have QMQRY on your system.  You can still use the 
commands:  STRQMQRY, CRTQMQRY without it.  The actual product QMQRY
just gives you a prompted interface which is a hybrid of WRKQRY and STRSQL.
I use RUNSQL extensively.  It has one minor truncation bug that only 
sporadically
hits.  The bug runs something like
INSERT INTO lib/file SET column = 'Now is the time for all good men to come to 
the
aid of their country.'
May get turned into:
Column
------
Now is the time for all goodmen to come to the aid of their country.
