Eric,

You are correct.  If a splf is created on hold (ovrprtf hold(*yes), 
then you do not get a data queue entry.

When the splf is released, then you get the dq entry.

Also, if the splf is then held and re-released, you will get another 
dq entry.

Every time a splf transitions to a released status on the outq, you 
get an entry.

We use this DTAQ method  to move splfs from system to system. I just 
send a
HLD splf to one of the redirected outqs. It stayed there until 
released it.
Also if it's a sav status then releasing it will cause it to be sent 
as
well.
