  • Subject: New PTF ordering method.

I like the new method IBM has for ordering PTF's over the Internet. It's a
start. The climax will be when they drop the GUI and allow us to order PTF's
over the Internet from our 400's themselves. All of our 400's have a lan card.
All of them could ftp remote sites to download info. We have a T1 connection
to the Internet. What's holding them back? It's not like we live in a time of
high unemployement and we need to employ people to click on icons when we could
have a batch setup to do this at night when the systems and the network are not
as busy.

When I use the Internet to download PTF's the WRKPRB is incomplete. For
example should I see:
PTF ID Requested PTF Save File
SF47542 No No
SF49686 No Yes

When I request SF49686? See PMR 85723,500. By the way SF47542 is a coreq that
was already on the system. My question is why does SF49686 say requested No.
