We've had the 4317's for about 2 years now. All are twinax attached to the AS/400. They are comming off lease at the end of the month and we are finally getting rid of them! Thank God! [ soapbox mode on ] These have been the biggest pieces of crap!!! I just love how they periodically forget all the settings! Had one do that to me today. It just resets itself back to factory default. They cannot recover from paper jams. You have to end the writer, power cycle the printer and restart the print writer. If they were such good printers, why would IBM be looking at selling off their printer division just 2 years after releasing printers to the public? They tried making a deal with Cannon but Cannon turned them down. I cannot speak for the InfoPrint line, only the Network Printer 17. [ soapbox mode off ] I am switching over to HP LaserJet's (5si, 5siMX, 4000N & 8000N). Unfortunately, we still have IPDS applications so we are buying the Blue Kit IPDS SIMM's from MPI for these printers. The initial purchase price is more expensive but reliability is far superior and on-going toner expense is much cheaper!
