Interesting problem. I presume the V3R2 machine is current on PTF cum packages ? (There WERE several PTF's quite a while back that corrected some incompatibility problems when restoring on V3R2 from RISC systems). I have successfully done this between a V4R2 system (at cum level C8195420) and a V3R2 system (cum level C8139320). Also - have you tried the following. V3R2 & V4R2 both contain a no charge optional OS/400 part called ObjectConnect (OS/400 Part 22). If you don't have it, it's on your install tapes/CD's (just remember to reload & apply 576x-SS1 PTF's from latest cum package after you install from release media in case any apply to this option). You can then use these commands without first having to dump your data into savefiles: SAVRST QSYS Save Restore SAVRSTCFG QSYS Save Restore Configuration SAVRSTCHG QSYS Save Restore Changed Objects SAVRSTDLO QSYS Save Restore Doc/Lib Object SAVRSTLIB QSYS Save Restore Library SAVRSTOBJ QSYS Save Restore Object How fast is it compared to SNDNETF of a savefile, or FTP of a savefile. Well, sorry - haven't tested that yet ! :-) And it does require an APPC or APPN connection (no TCP/IP). (Don't forget to consider the time to save/restore the stuff into savefiles when comparing to time for a SAVRSTLIB for example).
