  • Subject: AS/400 network access

Greetings --

Thanks for this list and for supporting it with your combined
knowledge. Otherwise, people like me wouldn't have such a great
source of information.

I've got a question that I'm not sure has been previously
discussed. It's regarding AS/400 network connectivity between
token-ring and ethernet.

We have a token-ring network and are planning to convert to
ethernet. In between points A and B (the migration), I'd like to be
able to connect a test ethernet networking environment consisting of
three machines to our token-ring backbone. These machines include one
NT Server and two 95's.

Would the ethernet machines be able to access my AS/400 without
installing an ethernet card into the box? I guess the question I
should ask is... is it possible to access an AS/400 from an ethernet
machine through a token-ring network???

I hope that wasn't confusing. Any help or comments would be
great!!!! Thanks in advance.
