J D Edwards has multiple language support. I believe this is done
through the use of data dictionaries or language overrides (memory
fading here).

For display file, we use one set of DDS and 2 message file (one
french, one english) and the MSGCON keyword. So we compile the DDS twice
changing the library list. This way, we partially avoid the problem of
maintaning 2 identical sources.

        >An alternative would be to make all descriptive text on the

The MSGID keyword allow something like this. It would be great
(one source, one object, several languages specific message files) but
working with this keyword in SDA is not practical (all you see is a
bunch of OOOOO).

        >For data files, how 'bout 2 sets of logical files listing all
of the fields
        >of the physical but with different TEXT and COLHDG? This is
awkward,
        >because you have to maintain all of the logicals every time you

        >field...

That is what we want to avoid. With 2 sets of files, the chances
of level check problem is too high.

        Thanks for the ideas.
