Don't change the sequence of the I/O buffer (add any new fields to the end of the DDS source). When you recreate the display file specify DEV(*NONE) MAXDEV(256) LVLCHK(*NO) It may avoid a slight problem during a system recovery (there are ways around it but you must alter your controlling subsystem during a manual IPL) if you leave the signon display for the QCTL subsystem alone - unless you wan't to put your home grown one in QSYS and make sure your SAVSYS contains it. (If you do that, don't forget to make sure it's there after a release upgrade).
