You put in the system name (as shown in DSPNETA) and *LOCAL for directory if you're accessing a local /400 (not passed through). I only recently got Excel (97) set up with SQL access via ODBC. It takes a bit of experimenting, both with CA's ODBC administrator, and with MS Query's Data Sources.
