I'm looking into VA RPG. It also does not use ODBC. It has native data
access that is very fast. I'm using a TCP/IP connection. It also does not
need Client Access.

Delphi is a good package. But watch out for performance comparison spin.
Borland has been known to compare loop operations with an integer index in
Delphi, floating point in VB. Guess who loses.

In addition, the underlying language is Pascal—more to learn. It may be
that VA RPG is good enough for your needs, thus leveraging your shop's
current skill set. (Jon P, am I getting the fever?)
