Hello Eric, He most certainly did not agree and was of the opinion that having all the bug fixes, "power" tools and IE4 packed up constituted a new operating system and therefore would be inherently more stable than w95 with fixes. MS really do have a wonderful marketing machine. w98 seems to have additional drivers for things like USB, Firewire, and AGP -- supposedly shared with NT. Also improved system optimisation (this may be what Pete Hall alluded to), better power and disk management tools but that's about it. It would seem to me that if you must run a MS operating system then NT would be a better choice (unless games are your highest priority). The moment you install any networking software on w95 it becomes remarkably unstable. Of course most of us know of still better choices! Where do you want to go today?
