Gary, I am not sure where it puts it. For future use you may want to add to QSTRUP the following two lines: CHGJOB LOG(4 00 *SECLVL) LOGCLPGM(*YES) ... DSPJOBLOG OUTPUT(*PRINT) We have a program called VARYON. We have the following: ... TCPIP: SNDPGMMSG MSGID(CPF9898) MSGF(QCPFMSG) + MSGDTA('Starting TCP/IP.') TOPGMQ(*EXT) + MSGTYPE(*STATUS) STRTCP MONMSG MSGID(CPF0000) DLYJOB DLY(60) SNDPGMMSG MSGID(CPF9898) MSGF(QCPFMSG) + MSGDTA('Starting TCP/IP server jobs.') + TOPGMQ(*EXT) MSGTYPE(*STATUS) STRTCPSVR MONMSG MSGID(CPF0000) SNDPGMMSG MSGID(CPF9898) MSGF(QCPFMSG) + MSGDTA('Starting Host servers.') + TOPGMQ(*EXT) MSGTYPE(*STATUS) STRHOSTSVR SERVER(*ALL) ... Perhaps the DLYJOB will help. It helped us. It's the system start up and I had to modify it to call our START program so as to start TCP/IP and do STRHOSTSVR whenever we bring it down. However, lately it seems like after it comes back up TCP/IP comes up but the Host servers do not. Consequently, I have to start the servers manually. Does anyone know where the messages go for QSTRUP so I can look at them? I'd like to see if I could find out if its actually hitting certain parts of the CL.
