I've never had to imbed special characters into a spool file to designate FAX# on Fax/400. I use: SBMFAX OPTION(*SPLEXIST) DSTSELMTH(*EXT) TEXT(TEST) TO(912195551212 'Sammy Smith' 'XYZ corp') FILE(spoolfile) SPLNBR(*LAST) rob@dekko.com ravi@spacestar.com on 06/12/98 03:46:57 PM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet cc: Subject: Re: Fax from the AS/400 Software I have worked with FAX/400. Seems to do the job quite well. You have to embed special characters in your spool file (ex)to designate Fax# etc. The fax machine is tied to an outq just like a printer. When the spool file 'hits' the fax machine, the special characters are interpreted & stripped out. Sorry, I do not have pricing information. Ravi Systems Group, Inc.
