I definitely DO NOT want to get into nitpicking details on the list (or
anywhere else for that matter!).  However, I sell and support a date
simulation product so I'm pretty familiar with what they can and can't
do.

Our product supports testing all of the things which you mention and
furthermore allows different programmers to test with different dates
simultaneously, something that even a standalone machine does not
permit.

Having said that, I still agree with my earlier statement to you that
changing the system date on a standalone machine (after following IBM's
recommendations), is a good idea as a final, final test, if you can
afford it.
