While Synapse WinAPPC will work via the autosync Hayes Optima SDLC solution into the comm port on the AS400 that is a fairly expensive resource. Knowing this, Synapse (I sell, support, use, and recommend it) developed an async dialup server called RemoteAPPC (see www.synapse.com) to solve this problem for Windows, Win95, Win98, and WinNT users. This product works on any AS400 from B10s up to the new V4R2 AS400e series. It is the only reasonable way to do simple async dialup into the AS400e which has the PCI buss (not SPD which wipes out the ASCII workstation controller).
