ObjectConnect has been around since V2R3.  It was delayed in coming to the
market place.  IBM's original design is that this was users were going to
move from CISC to RISC when using side-by-side.

I am not aware that it was moved from fee to free, but this would be a good
move for IBM.  Every time IBM puts out another chargeable part of OS/400,
they shoot themselves in the foot.
