Tim, with all due respect, I do not agree.

When a file has been opened, you get immediate maintenance.  The ACCPTH
parameter determines what happens to the file after you close it, and
before it's opened again.

If you say *IMMED, it's always maintained in real time.

If you say *REBLD, the access path is thrown away after use, and it's
rebuilt on the next open.   If a second user opens the same file after the
first user has it opened (with access path rebuilt), the second user gets
immediate access to the access path.

A third option, *DLY, exists, which maintains the access path immediately
up to a certain percentage of records in the view.  I do not remember exactly.
