I don't remember the exact specifics ... but at Cross Pointe Paper Corporation
(since has had a name change and I don't remember the new name) in West
Carrollton, Ohio, I/we used a keyboard wedge device. A terminal sits there and
accepts the data.

Works great and is inexpensive. Then again, we needed a terminal at the
location for our in-house-written MES software.
