RE: RE: NOLA post mortum....

Hi all,
One neat thing was the AS/400 soundoff. Somehow, Someone got the vidio
of that wonderful product(Lose/9x) being unveiled at Comdex, and put it
on Tom Jarosh's computer to show the crowd. The blue screen of death
never looked better than with it's creator standing proudly by it.....
... (as the announcer said) MOVING RIGHT ALONG....

Java was hot. Lots of interest. Domino was the other hot topic.
It's going to do great things for this platform.

AS/400 had the Manager for the AS/400 (Tom Jarosh) fielding questions.
He did a pre-empted strike on the "Its the marketing" issue by showing
some of the ads being tried out. FULL PAGE PICTURES of the AS/400.
Nice stuff. Now if we can get this stuff past the IBM Marketing Police.

BTW, Someone(heh, heh)took the opportunity of having the top AS/400
person there to ask for enhancements to the CL language.
It was our only shot at the subject so I made it good.
We'll see.... I'll keep you posted on the results.

John Carr (trying to get some rest)

P.S. I had alot of people(180ish) attend my session on "External I/O
Modules in RPG" session on Friday. It had a section on writing to
the IFS. Lots of interest on that topic too.
