I do not recomend the retrieve/change/compile method. Because you must 
redo/check your change after each ptf/release install. We created our own 
startup program and the 1rst thig it does is CALL QSYS/QSTRUP. Then it does all 
of our stuff (strart qsnads ...). this way, if IBM changes there startup 
program, we have the change to.

Hello All

I am in the process of setting up a new system & I want to configure the
startup programs.

I understand that the default startup is QSTRUP in QSYS.  What is the
proper way to customize this?  Retrieve the source & recompile, change
SYSVAL, etc ?
