Not exactly true..... The real performance problem with running S/36 apps on the AS400 is S36E. This is an emulation environment which allows you to run S/36 code with minor modification. Native environment apps do not suffer from these penalties. A larger machine could, despite S36E, outperform any S/36. Also, the F02 is, IMO, a dying machine in that CISC support is declining. The OS (up to V3R2M0) will stop being supported soon (next year I think). This makes upgrading to this machine a pretty hard sale..... ________________________ Reply Separator _____________________________ I am going to give up my plans of the F02. I will look into a used 436 for the job as it seems this conversion and such will really hurt my performance. It seems that my sys/36 is a real screamer in comparison to some as/400's out there.
