I totally disagree.
An application crashing the OS means two things:
1/ Once again an app was release without proper testing
2/ The OS is seriously flawed.

In my opinion this *IS* the fault of the OS. It should never
happen. In the case of the windows family it happens so
often I get the impression the OS just falls over itself,
nothing to do with an errant app...

My 2 cents.
