Booth,

We do this (I guess) with token ring. The AS/400 is just on the network, and we 
needn't log in to the network to access the /400. It's on a netware network 
though, not NT, and I suspect things will stop completely if the server 
crashes. It's been very stable lately though (knock on wood), and I haven't had 
an "opportunity" to see for sure.
