I am trying to figure out this stuff.  If the question is too stupid,
please just ignore it, ok?  

Can one put an ethernet card in an AS/400 and just attach the AS/400 to
the LAN, like it was any other LAN device, without needing a server?  (I
am trying to figure out if, and why,  one would need to install an NT
server in order to access an AS/400.)
