In service pack SF45545 the PC5250 Send/Receive buttons were changed
from invoking PC5250 File Transfer (a billable optional feature that you
would need to order and load to the AS/400 - usually used in shops that
install PCOMM400 and not CA/400) to invoking CA/400 Data Transfer. See
the PROBLEM CONCLUSION section below.

Beware of the SEU/F10 problem with PC5250 that is caused by Service Pack
SF45545, unless you download the fix for pcslt52.dll and replace the dll
after you apply SF45545 to your PC.

  ERROR DESCRIPTION:
The CA400WINOPT r310 client, without any service pack, allows
functions to be mapped to the AltGr states of keys within the
PC5250 keyboard map, and then the AltGr state of the specific
key functions correctly when used. Once either SF35514 or
SF36095 is applied (I haven t experimented with other SPs) the
AltGr states of keys can still be mapped within PC5250 keyboard
map but the AltGr state of the specific key executes the Alt
state of the key when used (instead of the AltGr state of the
  key as mapped).

  LOCAL FIX:
None known (except not to apply SP)

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
When you use file transfer from PC5250, CA/400 data transfer is
  not invoked.

AltGr states of keys can be mapped within PC5250 keyboard
mapping, but the AltGr state of the specific key executes the
Alt state of the key when used (instead of the AltGr state of
  the key as mapped).

  PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The default action for the "Transfer" pull down menu items and
the "Send" and "Receive" buttons in PC5250 has been changed to
invoke CA/400 data transfer rather than PC5250 file transfer.
If CA/400 data transfer is not installed on the PC, the default
is set to PC5250 file transfer. Refer to the service pack
readmesp.txt for more information on how to change the default
  back to PC5250 file transfer.

This ptf fixes the reported problem with the AltGr key.

        Subject: CA95 APVAFILE?

        Hello folks,
When I try to access the "Send data to the AS400" from the top
of my
PC5250 CA/Win95 session, it produces a command entry at the
bottom of my
screen that says APVAFILE then some parameters related to the
data I am
        trying to transfer.
I couldn't find (APVAFILE) in my *LIBL and I browsed the
Softcopy CD and
looked into other Q* libraries and found no command like this.
What is APVAFILE command, and why don't I have it?
