Lynn you are right Last fall FASUG (Fairfield Application Systems Group) held a full day conference & exposition in Trumbull CT - there were 30 sessions and lots of exhibitors at a most reasonable cost with topics that were of high interest. Not sure if it will be at the same faculties this year but likely in the same general geography. Some of them even hold full day seminars (i.e. Delaware Valley Users Group) and 1/2 day seminars ( i.e. East Penn Computer Group). They bring in top name speakers at an affordable price, and you can attend without having to pay for airfares, and hotels. Any Joe Schmo, can afford to attend without having to relay on his employer to pay, if he is unfortunate enough to work for a company that isn't willing to pay the high cost of attending COMMON. >Lynn >lfolk@nbn.net > > >---------- >From: David Gibbs[SMTP:david.gibbs@silvon.com] >Sent: Friday, January 09, 1998 1:44 PM >To: midrange-l@midrange.com >Subject: Education? > >Greetings! > >I was recently asked what kind of "Professional Education" offerings >were available for Midrange folks. > >I immediately thought of COMMON... but I would like to offer some >alternative solutions. > >Does IBM still hold it's "Technical Seminar"?
