Hi, > >We've been hearing anywhere from 3 - 6 weeks depending on which VAR >we talk to. Air shipment, about $500, apparently shortens the time by >about a week. > A few points. We are not guaranteeing any new orders for 640s or 650s after now. We will place those orders, because IBM has visions of $$$$$$ in their sweet little heads. We will continue to accept new orders for 620s, for about another week. 600s seem plentiful. IBM has attractive financing rates if the new system is installed this year. (This is a stupid game that IBM plays every year, and they seem to be addicted to it. When I get Lou Gerstner's job [fat chance - I enjoy mine too much.] I will split up all of IBM into eleven parts, and have each part meet their revenue challenges in every month January through November. I'm sick of working on New Years Eve.) It should be noted that Rochester was not been meeting their projected delivery dates (by generally about 3 to 5 days). If your system is shipping late (and you need it) insist that IBM absorbs the cost of air freight.
