Chuck,

One of my clients was/is using it between two machines. Overall I would say
that they are very pleased with it, good performance, quite transparent to
applications, etc. I was not involved in the operations side so I cannot
speak to any operational problems.

However, I will say that the one problem I had with opticonnect as a
developer was that the jobs initiated on the remote (database) machine all
run under the same user profile (QOPT or something like that). The problem
with this is that if you are using triggers to perform audit logging you get
an essentially useless audit file as everything appears to be updated by
QOPT. This was a little more that a year ago, so this may have changed by
now.
