I have reviewed several different fax options for the AS400, but the one
that I thought stood above the rest in terms of ease of use, set up and
price is Computer Keyes, Keyes Fax software. This is a software only set
up, you attach a PC fax modem to a V24 comm port and away you go. All
functions are controlled from the 400. It also had an outq that is
monitored so you can fax any spool file (you put the fax number in the
spool file atribure for user data), or you can imbed fax commands in the
spool file itself. We felt this was a better solution than the seperate
fax box most solution use, especially for remote AS400s that have little of
no staff available to "manage" the machine. JMO. Standard disclaimer: I
have NO relationship with this company.
