I have a lot of respect for both you guys.  Each of you has valid points
and valid experiences.  Neither of you guys is wrong, ok?  Now, you two
just as soon wash some windows together?  One inside, the other one
outside?

The point about Applications really hit the topic I thought.  This is from
today's WSJ: "... In addition, the company clearly underestimated the
difficulty of setting up a billing system. Jeff Lill, a former Microsoft
manager in charge of MSN's infrastructure, says billing software was the
responsibility of a single programmer who had no experience in the field." 
Microsoft set up MSN and assigned   _one_   programmer to take care of
writing a billing package?  (I know, its anecdotal.  But it is funny too.)
