Booth: >I am curious how others deal with zip codes including foreign postal >codes. An alpha field, 10 long is beginning to look attractive to me but >I really would like to hear others comment. > >What say you? That's exactly what we have been doing ever since Zip + 4 came out, and it has been working fine. Our field is a 10-byte alphanumeric field forced to upper case, and so far it has handled all Canadian, UK, European, and Asian Postal Codes we have encountered without any problems. We do make our users (includes me!) enter the dash for 9-digit zip codes, but no one is complaining. - Lou Forlini Software Engineer System Support Products, Inc. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MAJORDOMO@midrange.com | and specify 'unsubscribe MIDRANGE-L' in the body of your message. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
