Do you know of a way to get a dynamic list of the valid AS/400 object
types? Are they found in some message, or is there another way? I'd like to
use this in a choice program for commands that deal with objects, without
having to change the code for each release.

This isn't elegant, but could you write a small program that reads an
Options file, pops up a choice window, and returns a parm based upon the
cursor position, or the Opt field value? Then create a physical file with
each valid command in it. Finally, have the choice programs that need the
options offer either the help key or the F4 key to call the new window pop
up window? At that point you are not hard coded and your options can be
added at will. Additionally it wouldn't take much to filter the user's
choices based upon some security technique that you liked.
