Hello all,

I've got a question.

I'm trying to clear up some files in my production environment and would like
to remove orphaned or seldomly used files. I created a file that contains
all the files in the library and wrote a quick CL program to DSPFD (*mbr) to
an outfile. I queried the file and found that of the 540 some odd files only
about 20 % have been used. Here's the question. What is the basis of this
information? Is it updated automatically by the OS when the file is opened?
When are these fields updated? I'm using the last used date field for my
query. I also had a problem and needed to restore the library last week.
Does this reset the last used date and time fields? Is there a better way
to do this? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Dana Keaton
