Booth,

   The saying "follow the road map" is one of the most important steps
you will ever learn about Cisc to Risc.  If you are coming up with some
issues that are strange or that do not lend themselves to the
instructions in the road map, you might wish to get a little consulting
help from Al Barsa, who has done a lot of conversions (he knows and
understands the processes).  You also want to insure that you have the
latest PTFs on your CISC machine, and the version of the road map (the
actual book) matches the version of the PTFs you have on your machine.
