To be more specific, the right-most byte may have a digit portion of 0 to 9, and a zone of C, D, or F. Does this look familiar? It means that a character field is considered numeric by TESTN if the data is in zoned numeric format. If the indicator in position 71-72 comes on (or 54-55 in old RPG), the data can be assigned to a numeric field using the MOVE opcode. Cheers!
