Historically, we've always enrolled all of our users into Office/400 on machine 'a' and manually added a directory entry on machine 'b'. This allows users on both machines to send mail to a user by name, and have the AS/400 validate the names (instead of sending to a default system, and guessing at the spelling of someone's name). We have machine 'a' set up with SMTP to The Internet. We enroll all of our users in the SMTP directory on machine 'a', and manually add directory entries to machine 'b' at the same time. We also have directory shadowing turned on to keep things in sync. --Paul E Musselman PaulMmn@ix.netcom.com +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MAJORDOMO@midrange.com | and specify 'unsubscribe MIDRANGE-L' in the body of your message. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
