One of the UDS models has an factory option set for the AS/400.  Is that
#9?

If you don't have an AS/400 option, you need to load #9, then change the
config to set the Dial command type to V.25BIS, and the character set to
NRZ.

The modem without the AS/400 option has a page in the manual that
describes this.
