It isn't necessary to IPL every week. I was in a 24x7 shop that had to schedule IPLs for lull periods. It was not unusual for us to go 6 or 8 months without an IPL. Even then, we often were only IPLing because we got the chance, rather than because we needed to. I know that some guys here will advise regular IPLs, but I can tell you from first hand experience that it should not be necessary. Necessary doesn't mean desirable, though. There are several different models of 530. If you post your processor model #, I can give you the CPW rating of your machine. However, I don't know what any of the mainframes are rated at.
